1) Office Bleaching:

It is a whitening method applied by the dentist in the clinic. Firstly, tartar and bacterial plaque on tooth surfaces are cleaned. Tooth surfaces are polished. A special gel is applied to the gums for protection. The patient wears protective glasses and whitening gel is applied to the teeth. The whitening process is completed in an average of 1 hour. Usually one session is sufficient.

2) Home Bleaching:

It is a whitening method applied by the person himself/herself at home with personalised plaques prepared by taking impressions from the mouth. The amount of whitening gel recommended by the dentist is placed into these trays and the trays are worn for several hours a day. After 1-2 weeks of use, the desired tooth colour is achieved.

Is there any pain during whitening?

Some sensitivity may occur during the procedure and in the first 24 hours after the procedure. This is a temporary condition. When the dentist’s recommendations are followed, this situation is overcome in a short time.

How long is whitening effective?

Beyazlatılan dişler ortalama 2-3 yıl rengini korur. Bu süre, kişiye göre değişir. Fazla miktarda çay, kahve ve sigara tüketen kişilerde bu süre kısalabilir.

Can teeth whitening be applied to everyone?

Teeth whitening is not recommended in the presence of tooth decay, gum disease and enamel cracks. In this case, ideal oral hygiene must first be ensured.

Scaling is the process of cleaning the tartar accumulated at the bottom of the teeth and removing tea, coffee and cigarette stains on the tooth surface. Teeth whitening, on the other hand, is the process of lightening the patient’s own tooth color with special medications.

Both procedures can be performed in sessions on the same day.

Neither procedure requires anesthesia. It is possible to apply these procedures without numbing the teeth. If the patient’s pain threshold is low and upon request, certain areas can be anesthetized.

If regular and correct oral care is performed, it will be sufficient to perform scaling once a year.

Whitening is performed in 2 or 3 sessions depending on the patient’s tooth color. All sessions can be applied on the same day.

It is possible to get a maximum of 2 or 3 tones above the patient’s own tooth color.
