Sinüs Lifting

Sinüs Lifting

As a result of the downward sagging of the sinus cavities, some loss of bone volume occurs. Although these losses are seen as a natural process, they pose a problem when it comes to implant treatment. In this case, the sinus is lifted upwards and bone thickening is performed by adding graft (bone powder) to support the bone tissue. This procedure is called Sinus Lifting. Thanks to this procedure, it ensures that sufficient volume is created for the length and width of the implant, which must be fully inserted into the bone.

Sinus lifting is not a harmful procedure, on the contrary, it is a supportive treatment for our patients who have thinned bone tissue in the upper jaw and want to have implants.

Since sinus lifting is a surgical operation, postoperative care is also important. That area should be allowed to heal. For this reason, very hot, very cold, hard and granular foods should not be consumed. Since there is an operation performed on the sinuses, sneezing should not be sneezed and post-treatment medications are given for this. Air travel should be avoided, this pressure can affect the sinuses and cause bleeding.

Sinus Lifting can be easily performed under both general anaesthesia and local anaesthesia.

Approximately 1 week after the procedure, the stitches are removed and healing continues. Complete recovery may take several weeks.

Necessary painkillers and antibiotics are given to prevent pain and infection after the procedure. As a result of their regular use, the pain level will be minimised.
