Why Use Dental Floss?
It is used in areas that a toothbrush cannot reach but need to be kept clean. It should be used to clean food particles that accumulate between teeth and below the gum line. It is a thin, thread-like hygiene device. Oral hygiene is very important for maintaining overall health. Food particles that accumulate between teeth and below the gum line, if not properly cared for, can eventually lead to tooth loss and gum problems.

How to Use Dental Floss?
Take a piece of dental floss and wrap the majority of the floss around your middle fingers. Hold the remaining portion of the floss firmly between your thumb and index finger. Gently slide the floss between your teeth, towards the gum line. Once the floss is between your teeth, wrap it around both teeth in a "C" shape. Gently move the floss up and down along the side of the tooth. This motion removes plaque and debris from the entire surface of the tooth. Use a clean section of floss for each tooth gap. Wrap the floss around your finger and roll it forward to create a clean section.
- Preventing tooth decay
- Improving gum health
- Eliminating bad breath
When should dental floss be used?
Dental floss is recommended to be used after brushing and is for single use only. However, if used correctly and regularly, whether it's before or after brushing is not important. Dental floss can be used every day, morning and evening. It is generally used after meals to easily remove remaining food particles.
What happens if you don't use dental floss?
If you don't use dental floss, you'll only clean a portion of your teeth. The remaining area—between your teeth and on your gums—will continue to accumulate tartar and food particles, leading to bad breath and tooth decay.
